GRADING: Three unsatisfactory projects (or failure to turn in projects) will result in a "U" for the course. Normally the project is due at the start of class on the week following the assignment. Projects 5,6,7,8 and 11 must be completed to receive a satisfactory grade for the class.
REQUIRED MATERIALS : C-THRU (W-8) protractor-scale; 3-H pencils;graph paper (10 or 20 divisions to the inch); field notebook ("surveying or engineering" notebook); 3-4 colored pencils
OPTIONAL MATERIALS: Hand lens, rock hammer
YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED A BRUNTON COMPASS FOR YOUR USE DURING THE SEMESTER. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BE SURE THE COMPASS IS NOT DAMAGED OR LOST. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A GRADE FOR THE COURSE UNTIL THE COMPASS HAS BEEN RETURNED TO THE DEPARTMENT.
