Current Research:

THESIS: Metal-Dissolved Organic Matter (DOM) interactions in natural waters.


My research is focused on interfacing chromatographic techniques, such as Capillary Electrophoresis and Liquid Chromatography with high resolution ICP-MS. These techniques allow me to study metal speciation in a variety of natural and polluted samples as well as biological fluids. More specifically, I will study Fe, Cu, REE interactions with Dissolved Organic Matter, anthropogenic contaminants like EDTA and specific (biochemical) organic compounds. I'm also involved in ICP-MS analyses for a study into P-eutrophication in the Everglades, and several projects from different FSU Departments who benefit from access to the ICP-MS.
