Florida State University announces a cluster hire in Marine Extreme Environments (see http://pathways.fsu.edu/faculty/geeo/ ).  Six new faculty will be hired over the next three years, with a focus on exploration and characterization of marine extreme environments.  The positions will be filled within the FSU Departments of Oceanography, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Geological Sciences and Biological Sciences.  The proximity of FSU to the Gulf of Mexico with its abundant oil and gas seeps, authigenic carbonate deposits, asphalt flows, brine lakes and gas-hydrate bearing sediments provides unique opportunities for research and discovery.  We are currently seeking applications for an accomplished senior scientist to lead the development of this program. Salary range and start up funds are commensurate with qualifications.

To apply send a CV and a statement of research interests and the names of 3 references via email (pdf) to Jeff Chanton (jchanton@mailer.fsu.edu) .
